After over 5 years of going to work as a Pet Therapy Dog, Brian ‘The Wonder Dog’ has decided to finally hang up his bandana and retire. There is no doubt that his sweet and loving nature will be missed by everyone who met him, however, Brian will now be taking a well deserved rest, and will be spending his golden years with his paws up – snoozing, snacking and getting lots of love and cuddles.
Stanley will still be available to help provide a wagging tail and a whiskery nose for all those who would like some canine support.
Thank you Brian for all the smiles you have given and the love you have shared; your sweetness and good nature will be missed by everyone.

What can I say about Miriam? We met by chance at a yoga workshop and I’m very glad we did! Miriam is so patient, kind & caring, it’s a huge help to me with her visiting my mum twice a week & mum always looks forward to her visits. Whether they stay home doing activities, pop out for an outing somewhere or go for walks it really doesn’t matter, as long as my mum’s happy that’s all that matters and Miriam visits on days I can’t be there so it’s a huge help to me. I’d be totally lost without Miriam and I’m so grateful to have met her & and to have her help on mum’s dementia journey. Suzanne [email protected] – Contact Us——————

Dear Miriam, You have been a wonderful support to our mum who needed someone to drop in several days a week to supplement our visits. You are so reliable and trustworthy and you have done everything to get to know our mum as a person and get to know her needs. Thank you for being there and continuing to give our mum all the help she needs to do the daily jobs to make her life easier. You’re making a big difference! I am so pleased that we found Miriam she has turned my grumpy mother into a happy person. My mother was originally very nervous, anxious and rather frightened, but she now looks forward to Miriam’s visits and also looks forward to her delicious, home-made soups, she has really cheered her up. Miriam is always very punctual and reliable and will go over and above her normal shifts – she will sometimes pop in when not scheduled. We could not do without her and we can relax when we know that Miriam is going to visit mother. Thank you Miriam

For the last eighteen months, Miriam has been helping to care and visit my mother in her own home. My mother suffers from dementia and was extremely wary of anyone new coming into her house. Her illness back then, made her think she didn’t needed any help and was very anti anyone coming in. Miriam was able to work her magic and find common interests that they both enjoy together. This has resulted in new skills , that mentally and physically challenge my mother and these skills now enhance her day. Having Miriam visit has given myself and the rest of my family, some welcome respite and we know when she’s there , our mother is happy and well cared for.
I have complete confidence in Miriam’s ability to know when to call ( if my mum is more confused than normal ) and I hope we can all work together for many more years! Thanks again Miriam!

There is no one I would rather trust my Mother with than Miriam. This lady is the most hard working, selfless person I have ever met! Nothing is too much for Miriam, she gives my Mother so much love and attention and makes her feel really happy and content. My Mother lives alone and can’t get about too much, so Miriam comes in everyday to make sure that the correct medication is given and helps put the dinner on and have a friendly cuppa. Also, since this pandemic with the COVID Virus , Miriam will help out with shopping etc. And visits at a safe distance with a mask and gloves. I and my Family are very confident of the safety and well-being of our Mother, thanks to Miriam. She truly is a unique, loving, caring person. And we are so happy to have her in our lives. Thank you. – Carrie, Jackie and Angie – Xxx
The lovely Margaret and Joan enjoying a little chair yoga, very impressed with both of them.
Miriam pops in to see Mum once a week. With family living so far away it’s reassuring to have Miriam & sometimes ‘Brian‘ the dog to keep an eye on her. She is always very cheerful & brightens up Mums day when she visits. Mum enjoys seeing Brian too, as she loves dogs! During the ‘Lockdown’ Miriam has been doing some shopping for her & making sure that she has food to eat, plus collecting her medication. She has also been encouraging her to do her exercises. We know that the family can always rely on Miriam to check on Mum if we are worried about her. Thank you Miriam for looking after our Mum. – Jan, Karen & Colin – x
A stroll along the river with the lovely Joan, Brian also came along and thoroughly enjoyed Joan’s’ company.
A shopping trip to Sainsbury’s was a must for Margaret then definitely a little rest in the coffee shop, before heading home.
After a hard morning shopping John and I popped into the local pub for a fizzy water.

Mary enjoys a coffee with Miriam at Brooklands shopping centre; getting out and about is essential for everyone’s well being.

“Miriam came to my rescue when I had a small stroke and could not drive. I felt cut off from day to day activities and all the things I needed to do. Always friendly and humorous, she knows my limitations and is always there to help; taking me wherever and whenever I want to go and helping me when I get there.”

A cooking session with Roberta. Fed up of those ready meals, we had a cooking morning to fill up the freezer with things that Roberta likes; nothing too spicy, but filled with ingredients she enjoys.
It was a lovely morning that we both really enjoyed.
In order to cheer Winnie up after a nasty fall, a trip to the hairdressers to see Steph for an hour of pampering helped a lot.
“Mum so looks forward to Miriam’s visits, she makes such a huge difference to her day. Miriam is so creative and thinks of different ways to get mum thinking and keeping her busy. Mum loves their little walks and it really does make her day when Miriam’s at the door. Thank you so much, you a have made such a difference and we don’t know what we would do without you.“
Thank you for all of your help, we are so grateful. x

Out and about with two ladies from the WI – Miriam has a monthly catch up with these two lovelies and they all thoroughly enjoy getting together. “Miriam has been a god send to us as a busy working family. Our mum Winnie has needed more and more care to enable her to stay in her own home whilst suffering with dementia. The services that Miriam provide for Winnie allow her to go out for a bite to eat and a walk around the shops supervised. And the family can be assured that she is in good hands and allows them to have a day off. Winnie enjoys her trips out with Miriam and this saves her taking herself off on the bus and getting lost and then being missing and having to involve the police to find Winnie before any harm may come to her. I would highly recommend Miriam and do not know what we would do without now. Thank you” – Tracey – “Miriam has been visiting my mum now for 3 months. She has early stages of dementia which can be difficult at times. She was very low, didn’t want to go out or do the usual daily things in life. We contacted Miriam and have her come and see mum 5 hours a week and it’s good to see my mum is back to herself, smiling and enjoying life. If it’s just to sit and have a coffee or a drive out to do a bit of shopping or a walk with Brian she really enjoys Miriam coming in when she does, it also takes a lot of pressure off my sister and me as we know she is in safe hands and enjoying herself.” – Bryan –
“Miriam and Brian are so wonderful. They were kind enough to visit two residential homes I work at, where they met the residents and spent some time with them. Brian was so calm and charming they all warmed to him straight away and Miriam was very kind and very easy to talk to.
The residents got so much from the visit and really did enjoy spending time with both of them. I would highly recommend a visit from Miriam and Brian; they put a smile on everyone’s faces.”

“Miriam helps out with taking my Dad to hospital appointments and my Mum on shopping trips when I’m not able to. It’s a worry off my mind, knowing that they are being looked after as if I were taking them myself.
Mum and Dad do not have many visitors and since my Dad had to stop driving due to ill health, their social interactions with people has decreased. Miriam’s cheery, positive attitude brightens up their day and makes them smile!

“Took John to a hospital appointment and informed his family on his progress. John even managed a smile after me pushing him in the wheelchair “ – Miriam – “Over the past couple of years, Miriam has regularly spent time with my Nana – taking her shopping, to the garden centre and for coffee. My Nana suffers with dementia and on her bad days is often reluctant to venture out of the house and do the things she has always enjoyed. Miriam is great at bringing her out of her shell and reminding her of the things she likes doing such as popping to the shops or having a coffee and a chat. In Miriam’s company, she is most like the lady she once was and most importantly enjoys herself. Miriam’s support is also a great help to my Grandfather, Mum, and Auntie who spend a lot of time helping my Nana. They know that my Nana is well looked after in Miriam’s capable hands and can trust that she will be safe and contented.” – Laura –“Miriam has been so kind to me over the years. She’s got a heart of gold and is always there to help. I so enjoyed it when she so often turned up unexpectedly to visit me when I’ve been in hospital. Such a lovely girl.”

“When I became consumed in looking after my mum who’s health had deteriorated, I didn’t have so much time to dedicate to my wonderful uncle Dave. Although fairly able himself he still needed help with shopping and a few errands. Miriam stepped in and changed David’s world. She became his buddy and he spoke so highly of her and their friendship. She went above and beyond for him and his trips out for shopping and coffee were the highlights of his week. Miriam is a natural friend and great with elderly folk. I just wish Dave had benefited from knowing her for longer. I can’t thank her enough for the way she enhanced his life.

A helping friend now is there for you whatever your age! John recently had a car accident and he needed help getting to and from appointments; needless to say, I was happy to help. I collected him, took him to where he needed to be – offering any assistance that was required – and then took him home. No stress or fuss, just a helping friend when needed.
